Allison Parssi is a Chicago-based artist + DJ who is continually reclaiming their art practice through music curation, collage, image making, writing, and sending art via snail mail.

While pursuing a BFA in photography from the Rochester Institute of Technology (2016), Parssi hosted a variety of daytime and specialty programs at their college radio station. Trading one Great Lake for another, they moved to Chicago in 2017 where they held a five year tenure as Stephen Daiter Gallery's Registrar, managing the gallery's inventory, coordinating loans, and maintaining communication with artists and clients.

Simultaneously, they worked as Education Coordinator at LATITUDE | Chicago, where they collaborated with artists and educators, bringing projects, classes, and workshops to fruition; the Fair Coordinator for the 2019 Monarch Art + Wellness Fair, celebrating LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC artists and wellness practitioners; and as Music Co-Director at CHIRP Radio, 107. 1FM. During their time as Music Co-Director, recontextualizing music and bringing new voices to the airwaves drove their work.

In March 2023 they started Shokoufeh, a DJ night focusing on SWANA (Southwest Asian, North African) music from across genres and decades. Over three years, they've brought this night to Podlasie, Sleeping Village, The California Clipper, and other venues across the city. Parssi currently works as the General Manager at co-sign radio promotion and marketing company. You can find Allison at a show many days of the week and at the lake any time of the year.
